Young people are playing a key role in driving change across the development sector and there is a new dimension to this. Our Youth Education Champions are aiding teachers in imparting problem-solving skills in classrooms and are introducing innovative approaches to transform the education and learning experiences of students.

In the dynamic realm of education, educators found themselves navigating a diverse range of experiences. Some encountered barriers in the form of denied access, despite having secured the necessary approvals from the educational board. On the other hand, some had the privilege of fostering meaningful and high-quality sessions from the inception to the culmination of the activation. Kenechi Bernard voiced a poignant concern regarding the substantial impact of a communication gap between the school and the board on the activation’s performance. On the other hand, Aminu Bako shed light on the challenge posed by the limited time allocated for the activation, expressing that it could have improved the session’s effectiveness despite the keen interest displayed by the students.

Despite some critics, several educators gave reviews that reassured us of the value of the program. Musa Halimat expressed being genuinely inspired by the issues identified by students and the innovative solutions they proposed. The activities encouraged critical thinking and prompted students to suggest ways they could help solve problems in their communities. Another educator, Rosemary Emmanuel, praised the lively and impactful facilitation style, noting how quickly the students embraced and applied new skills. As an educator, she found the active participation and commitment of the students to be a rewarding experience.
