DEAN INITIATIVE’s founded in 2010, our mission is to unbox the voice of the citizens and amplify same using the 21st century advocacy tools to promote and enhance healthy communities for young people and adults while mobilizing resources to build sustainable social development projects that will lead the way in providing quality education, potable water supply, healthcare facilities, and agricultural development.
Semiye Michael, a man who wears the badge of a two-time United Nations Global Goals Goalkeeper proudly, a recognition bestowed upon him by the esteemed Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. His name reverberates within the corridors of advocacy and social change, particularly in his homeland of Nigeria. With a fervent dedication, he has become a leading voice in championing the Initiative for Transforming Education in Nigeria, striving tirelessly to elevate educational standards and opportunities for all. But his ambitions extend beyond borders; he‘s on a mission to drive the adoption of Open Governance Partnership in the Area Councils scattered across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). This man’s journey is not just about accolades but about igniting tangible change, one initiative at a time, to pave the way for a brighter, more equitable future.
Her Bio
Doreen is a development practitioner an advocate of social justice. She currently works with DEAN Initiative as the Technical Programs Lead,she leads and supervises the team and explore new project frontiers.
Doreen holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria. Her skill set includes program design and development, in-depth research in education and inclusive governance, grant proposal writing. She is fluent in English, Hausa Language and has a limited working knowledge of French.
In her professional journey, Doreen has managed various roles, including coordinating hybrid projects for Gather Global a social impact organization based in the USA.
Her volunteer experience includes roles with the
Reaching Impact Saturation and Epidemic Control (RISE)-JHPIEGO where she facilitated support sessions, educating participants on DSD models, HIV prevention, and supported HIV-positive women and children.
She enjoys travelling, research and reading .
As the Programs Officer at DEAN Initiative, Taiye Ojo plays a pivotal role in driving impactful programs and initiatives. With a strong background in advocacy and community mobilization, Taiye has led various successful projects, including the Climate Activist Summer Camp and the Adopt-a-Teach project. Taiye Ojo is passionate about transforming education, enhancing youth engagement, and promoting open government practices. Through coordinated town hall meetings, focus group discussions, and the design of actionable plans for local government councils, Taiye is dedicated to effecting positive change in the community.
Dorcas Mokikan is a veterinary doctor and communications officer dedicated to advocating for climate action. With a background in veterinary science, she highlights the connections between climate change and animal health, crafting educational campaigns and engaging stakeholders to promote informed climate strategies. Passionate about sustainability, Dorcas aims to protect both ecosystems and animal welfare for a resilient future.
Kayode Faloye is described as a results-driven sales professional and administrator with 10 years of combined experience in driving revenue growth, building strong relationships, and leading administrative operations.
It is reported that he has 7 years of sales expertise, with a proven track record of consistently meeting and exceeding sales targets, developing and executing successful sales strategies, and fostering strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
In addition to his sales background, Kayode is said to have spent 3 years honing his administrative skills, overseeing day-to-day operations, managing projects, and ensuring seamless execution of business objectives.
Observers note that he brings a unique blend of sales acumen, administrative expertise, and leadership abilities. Kayode is known to be passionate about driving results and dedicated to delivering exceptional performance.
Johnson Oluwatosin Ajayi is a seasoned professional with over three years of combined experience in accounting and education. With a strong foundation in financial analysis, Data entry and a passion for imparting knowledge, Johnson has successfully balanced roles in both sectors. Skilled in Microsoft Excel and other Accounting softwares, Johnson brings a unique perspective to financial management and teaching, interpreting financial informations and asking them accessible to diverse users of financial information and services. With a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Abuja, Johnson brings a strong foundation in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to the team.
Oamen Faith .E. Flourish is the office assistant of DEAN Initiative. She is a graduate of the University of Abuja with a background in Guidance and Counseling. She has undergone training on Skillz Girls from YEDI and is a trained educator and gender equality specialist.
Faith is described as a passionate entrepreneur with interests in climate change and innovation. In her free time, she enjoys reading and creating new things that help improve her thinking ability and allow her to study her environment.
